                                                             President: Ashlinn Marron

Ashlinn, originally from Cork, moved to San Francisco in 2010. She currently works at retail disruptor, Stitch Fix Inc. with their Creative department on marketing campaigns, product launches and operational initiatives. Prior to Stitch Fix, Ashlinn worked at Yahoo with their Brand Creative Group on international marketing campaigns and high-profile events like CES and SXSW.

Earning an honors degree from University College Cork, in Commerce and Italian, Ashlinn specialized in marketing, consumer behavior and choice analysis.  While completing her degree, she spent an Erasmus (Year Abroad) in Bologna, Italy, studying at the prestigious Università di Bologna.  Ashlinn attended UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School to achieve her Masters, and holds an Msc in Marketing Practice, commercially known as the Marketing Development Programme.

Prior to Yahoo, Ashlinn worked agency-side with Flickerbox Inc. in the Saas arena, where she contributed heavily in establishing digital identities for start-ups, leading website redesigns, and fronting product launches. While in Ireland, she worked for Ballymaloe Foods on their marketing initiatives and new product strategies. Ashlinn has a strong passion for progressive education, having volunteered as a teacher in the Chhan school, Cambodia. Here in the Bay Area, she regularly volunteers with organizations that focus on youth development, empowerment and education.

Vice-President: Máire Treasa (Ní Ainnín) Sogabe

Máire Treasa (Ní Ainnín) Sogabe is the Chief of Staff to the Chief Security Officer at Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), one of the largest gas and electric utility companies in the United States.   Máire is responsible for program management and strategic initiatives to identify and manage physical and cyber security risks to protect PG&E's people, critical infrastructure, information assets and business operations.

Prior to her current role, Máire held positions in portfolio, program, and project management.  She has over 15 years of experience implementing complex IT projects in utilities and financial services.  She successfully managed one of the largest GIS implementations in North America.  Other past projects include implementing online functionalities to enhance PG&E customers’ utility service planning and the deployment of mobility solutions for PG&E employees throughout California.  

Máire has been active in community organizations throughout her career.  In Ireland, she volunteered for the Youth Services, Co-Operation North, and the Campaign for Democratic Politics.  In Japan, she served on the organizing committee for the Emerald Ball Tokyo and was a member of “Tokyo Fáilte”, an Irish Women’s group.  Currently, she is a member of the PG&E Women’s Network and PG&E’s IT Diversity and Inclusion Board.  She is also a Board member of the Irish Network Bay Area.

Máire is originally from the Dingle Peninsula in Co. Kerry, Ireland.  
Treasurer: Nick Ginger  

Nick provides management, technology, and risk consulting services to help Fortune 500 companies in the Banking & Capital Markets, and Technology sectors respond to their most complex business challenges. 

Previously, Nick provided advice for a variety of specialty tax service groups including International Tax, Transaction Advisory, State and Local Tax, and Business Compliance. His background includes the researching of some of the most pressing tax law issues to companies today; including mergers and acquisitions of C corporations, S corporations, LLCs, and partnerships.

An avid supporter of the micro-brewing industry, Nick is also active home brewer with zero casualties so far.  Nick also enjoys long distance running.

Nick holds a J.D. and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he also spent a summer studying law at Trinity College Dublin.   Nick is a member of the State Bar of California.

Secretary: Kate Nelson 

Kate, a Bay Area native, works as a Professional Services Consultant for Jobvite. In her role, Kate helps new clients to help get them up and running on the Jobvite platform. Before Jobvite, Kate worked in recruiting for engineering and professional services at big data company, Cloudera.

Graduating from UC Santa Barbara in 2010, she spent her last year of college studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain. In the years following graduation, she moved to Madrid, where she worked as an English teacher for the Spanish Department of Education. Following Madrid, Kate spent time in Ireland, where she earned a Masters in Business Studies with an emphasis on International Relations from University College Cork.

Outside of work, Kate enjoys traveling and hiking; some of her favorite trails are in Marin and the Oakland/Berkeley hills. 

   Member of the Board:  Gareth Coen 


Originally from Greystones, Co. Wicklow, Gareth first came to San Francisco in 2004 to study at the University of San Francisco’s  (USF) Graduate Business School. After graduating in 2006 with his MBA in Entrepreneurship, Gareth worked with internet software and services start-ups as a consultant before joining IDA Ireland in 2008 to open their new office in Irvine, CA. 

Whilst at IDA he managed Consumer Internet portfolio and successfully helped companies like,, Riot Games, The Walt Disney Company, Demand Media and Beats by Dre establish operations in Ireland. 

Now Gareth is Director of US Client Relationships for Eversheds, Ireland’s only pan-European law firm with over 4,000 lawyers across 55 offices. Gareth is also the founder of - an e-commerce platform for Irish Expats taking the hassle out of buying gifts for friends and family in Ireland. He is also an advisor to Open Government start-up You can find him @GarethCoen on Twitter. 


Member of the Board: Ivan Harrow

Ivan Harrow is Director of IT for Sales, Marketing & Legal at Slack. Prior to this he led the business intelligence and analytics function for Sales & Marketing IT, where he delivered significant revenue uplift and business process optimization through the exploitation of big data and analytics to deliver actionable insights. A native of Limerick, Ireland, he is currently based in San Francisco, CA and has worked at a variety of locations across the US, Europe and Middle-East. Ivan has extensive experience in product and solution development in the areas of Analytics, Healthcare IT, technology integration, and enterprise architecture.

Ivan holds a B.Sc. in Applied Physics and a M.Sc. in Technology Management, both from the University of Limerick, Ireland. He holds multiple US, European and International Patents in the area of networking technology. Outside of work, he enjoys international travel, rugby, sailing and exploring the San Francisco Bay Area.

   Member of the Board:  David Smith
David joined TMF Group on Silicon Valley in October 2014 as SVP, Global Sales TMF supports companies to grow internationally by handling their global back office needs (accounting, compliance, payroll) in over 80 countries

David has been based in Silicon Valley since 2006, specializing in advising European companies on US market entry, venture capital funding and business development. He is an experienced Board Advisor, mentor and speaker.

From 2012 to 2014 David was VP International and Head of Corp Dev for US Market Access Centre (US MAC), the longest established international business accelerator in Silicon Valley with offices in San Francisco and Menlo Park.  David specialized in accelerating US market entry for international tech companies, helped support universities in developing spin-outs, corporates in developing innovation programs and US VC funds in developing quality international deal-flow.

From 2006 to July 2012 David was a SVP with Enterprise Ireland in Silicon Valley, where he supported over 120 Irish companies in their USA market activities leading to multi-million dollar sales, venture funding and IP licensing deals.

Prior to moving to Silicon Valley from Ireland, David's career also focused on international sales and marketing.  With IDA Ireland, Davidsupported over 100 foreign owned companies to establish and grow in Ireland and with Prudential Europe David managed Internal and External communications as well as Market Research.  While in Ireland David was also an adjunct-lecturer in international marketing.

As an entrepreneur, he has co-founded an international services company based in Dublin that never evolved from stealth mode and was a founding partner of Tirna Partners, an international consultancy practice based in Toronto.

David is also known as the best networked Irishman in Silicon Valley and he is recognized as a LinkedIn / social networking expert.

Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, David has Masters and Bachelor's degrees in Business & Marketing from The Michael Smurfit Business School and University College Dublin.  He also holds a post-graduate diploma in Executive Coaching.
Member of the Board: Máire P. Walsh

Máire P. Walsh is the Digital Strategy Director at Subdirect, a company that collaborates with the world's leading publishers to help brands connect to their audiences. In addition, Máire is the Lead Digital Media Instructor for kdmcBerkeley at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Prior to Subdirect, Máire was a Partner and VP, Sales & Marketing at Next Steps Marketing, a company that specializes in building and monetizing audiences for media and tech companies.

Máire is the former two-term President of Exceptional Women in Publishing (EWIP), a national organization dedicated to mentoring, educating and supporting women in media. Currently, she is digital media advisor and mentor for Startout.  Máire is a native of Castlebar, Co Mayo, loves squash and soccer, and has an MBS from National University of Ireland, Galway. She has been featured in Folio, Audience Marketing, Media Shepherd, The Irish Times, and Yahoo Finance and is a regular speaker at media industry conferences.

  Member of the Board: Regina O'Connor-Hannon

Regina originally hails from Gleannagealt in the Dingle Peninsula. Currently Regina works with early stage start up companies in the Bay Area helping with Marketing Campaigns, Event Management and Product Launches. Previous to her career in start ups Regina worked at The Nature Conservancy as an Associate Director of Operations. In addition to Regina's time at not for profits and start ups Regina spent almost a decade in a variety of Operational Roles at Charles Schwab. Regina holds an honors degree in Sociology and Geography from NUI Maynooth and a Master's Degree in Women's Studies from University College Dublin. Regina has been active in politics since her time serving on the social welfare committee in college. This interest persisted and Regina was one of the founding members of Democratic Left in Ireland. After moving to the US Regina took a very active role in the last three presidential campaigns and managed phone banks for every election in addition to traveling out of state to engage in door to door canvassing. Regina is also an active member of the Demlabs a non profit dedicated to creating technology tools for political campaigns. In addition to work and voluntary activities Regina is an avid fan of the outdoors and spends every possible minute outside rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking. Regina is a board member of the INBA and is delighted to have an opportunity to help others find their place in the US having been the recipient of help and support from the Irish Community in the US when she first arrived.
